McCain Quick Sketch 40 minutes . . .

I felt like doing some quick sketching and painting this morning to get my engines running . . . I sometimes feel for magazine work that I tend to hold back on exaggeration and how I really see someone for fear of the art director not going for it . . . that's about to change.

* NEWS FLASH * My wife Kat and I have been married for 10 years and this Saturday we leave for Ireland for two and a half weeks to celebrate! This will most likely be my last post until I return!

Yeah man, never hold back. In theater and/or film, when it comes to acting we usually say never to hold back and to let the director bring you back down if necessary. But it is better to go that extra mile to push to try and get what you want. For example, when Johnny Depp was going to be Captain Jack Sparrow, he wanted some of his teeth with gold caps, but the studio didn't want any,... so when he got every tooth in his mouth gold capped, the studio decided to let him keep half of them,... so he over did it to get what he wanted. But anyway, awesome job, you made him look scary!

Yeah, you already don't hold back on the painting skill, so you might as well push the exaggeration as well.

Also, this is laugh-out-loud funny.

Happy Anniversary, Bro! It'll me 11 years for my wife and myself in Dec...(Not bad for a 31 year old guy, lol).

By the way, just got your new book a few days ago, Jason -- Just absolutely awesome -- I can tell you how inspiring both you and your work are. Please, never stop sharing!

So, two and a half weeks, huh? I think I maybe going through withdrawals by the time you return... At least you gave us this tastey treat before your left!

Great to see you pushing the exaggeration Jason, always a healthy thing IMHO!

And congrats on the anniversary, if you're in this neck of the woods, and you fancy hopping over the pond to visit London, you'd be very welcome.

I like how in referring to what art directors dictate, you add..."that's about to change!"

Your confidence and drive, the need to breathe your own aesthetic air... so well represents that spirit of the artist! Something that has throughout history found itself challenged by the alleged necessary mediocrity of the times!

Keep on keepin' on kid...!!!

Love this piece here...its a head turner neck jerker!!
